These drawings presents the design of my cider press and pomology research labs in the greater urban context. First the site plan showing both my roof plan and ground floor plan. The building has two key frontages, on the east there is the main shared route running through the length of the Metamorphic City. To the south is a pedestrian route leading to the Bristol Arena. As you can see the surrounding landscape is mirrored by the building itself as it appears to bleed out into the public realm. The rhythm and symmetry of the man made concrete cider structure breaks down into something more random in the pomology labs. This is reference to the man vs nature duality of the architecture. The sections show clearly the two primary concepts of climbing with the tree and falling with the apple. The elevations show the building within its wider context of the Metamorphic City.
