These images show the journey through the building beginning with the approach. The exterior view shows how the concrete industrial form fragments, allowing nature to penetrate the built environment. The pomology labs stack up around the trees creating an architecture that appears to grow with its surroundings. The lab garden surrounded by the large concrete walls of the industry is only fully experienced upon entering the entrance lobby and looking through the large pivoting door. Within the concrete form the cider making process occurs. The natural light is gradually substituted with artificial light as the natural product of the apple is turned into the man made cider. This journey ends in a bar area that leads out onto a public space on the south side of the building. Six concrete benches appear to fall off the monolithic form creating a connection between the building and the public realm.
