This was a short two week project where the brief was simply to imagine ways of improving the city of Bristol by using exercise as the primary influence. The final output was a poster to communicate the idea and help gain public support. I imagined two separate, relatively pragmatic schemes that would hopefully encourage Bristolians to exercise more.
The first was a cycling 'flyover' running between Queen's Square and Templemeads Railway station. This was greatly influenced by my frustrating daily commute of cycling down Park Street at great speed only to be halted abruptly by pedestrians where the cycling path vanishes into a sea of suits wearily stumbling to work. Annoyingly pedestrians and cyclists share the footpath between Redcliffe Bridge and Templemeads. Below is a potential solution, a dream.
