PINC Pavilion, Clínica de Arquitectura
The PINC Pavilion is a new addition sitting amongst the trees within the gardens of the University of Porto. The concrete frame that encases the pavillion appears both impenetrable yet open and permeable depending on your view. In contrast to its rigid appearance, the function of the pavilion is flexible, it can hold meetings and events yet also serve as a place of relaxation or discussion for students. Inspired by 'the images of the timeless ruins', the architects hope that 'the pavilion should merge with the garden over the time'. The interior is lined with chipboard to create a warm atmosphere within. The clear glass panels that sit between the 12 concrete ribs provide views out to the garden.
